Carbon fiber prepreg refers to a mixture of carbon fiber/resin matrix formed by continuous carbon fiber, carbon fiber fabric or chopped carbon fiber impregnated with resin matrix under certain process conditions.
1.Main technologies of high-performance composite materials
As a fiber-reinforced resin-based material, carbon fiber prepreg can be cured and formed under high temperature and pressure conditions to obtain high-strength and light-weight composite structural parts. Several main forming technologies of composite materials are shown in Figure 1, and prepreg has become one of the mainstream materials of composite materials due to its excellent performance.

2.Why use composite materials?
The typical properties of composite materials compared with traditional wood, concrete and metal materials are shown below. As can be seen from the figure, composite materials have excellent tensile strength and tensile modulus, and at the same time have low density, so they have the characteristics of light weight, high strength and good stiffness.
3.What is carbon fiber prepreg?
Carbon fiber prepreg is mainly composed of two components: carbon fiber and resin matrix. According to the carbon fiber reinforcement method, carbon fiber prepreg can be divided into unidirectional reinforcement and multi-directional reinforcement, as shown in the figure below.
