What is glass fiber aerogel felt (nano-porous thermal insulation felt)?

The glass fiber aerogel felt product is a soft, hydrophobic, high-temperature resistant to 650°C, fire-retardant, non-powder-proof and heat-insulating product that uses proprietary technology to combines nano-porous aerogel with glass fiber needle-punched felt non-woven. The special process makes the glass fiber aerogel mat have ultra-low thermal conductivity, excellent hydrophobicity, environmental protection, and non-toxicity, With excellent properties such as grade A non-combustibility, and easy construction, it is the most ideal insulation material for industrial pipeline insulation, storage tank insulation, high-temperature furnaces, automobile fireproof insulation materials, building insulation, and other fields.

Aerogel is a general term for a class of nano-porous materials. Its skeleton is a three-dimensional network structure composed of nanoparticles. The skeleton structure is filled with a gas dispersion medium. Its special nano-porous structure gives it unique thermal, optical, and electrical properties.

The outstanding feature of silica aerogel is that it is also called "frozen smoke" or "blue smoke" and is the lightest solid in the world.
Extremely low density: as low as 3KG/m³.
Extremely high porosity: up to 90% or more.
The thermal conductivity is extremely low: as low as 0.013W/m·K.

Glass fiber aerogel felt performance characteristics

  1. Thermal insulation: the long-term use temperature reaches 650°C, the thermal insulation effect is 3 to 5 times that of traditional materials, and it is highly efficient and energy-saving.
  2. Durable heat resistance: the unique nano-three-dimensional network structure provides excellent high-temperature stability, avoiding the deformation accumulation and sharp decline in thermal insulation performance of traditional materials due to vibration.
  3. Thinner insulation thickness: only 1/3 to 1/5 of the thickness can achieve the same insulation effect as traditional materials, reduce heat loss, and improve space utilization.
  4. Compression, tensile and crack resistance: it has good flexibility, tensile and compressive strength, can resist rough construction, and will not settle or deform after long-term use.
  5. Waterproof: It has excellent overall waterproof performance, with a water increase rate of >99%, isolating liquid water while allowing water vapor to pass through.
  6. Sound insulation and earthquake resistance: while insulating equipment, it can also perform functions such as sound absorption, noise reduction, and vibration buffering to improve environmental quality and protect equipment.
  7. Safety and environmental protection: it does not contain harmful substances to the human body, and the content of soluble chloride ions is very small.
  8. Save transportation and storage costs: smaller insulation volume and total weight can significantly reduce transportation and storage costs.
