Description

What is kevlar belt (para-aramid webbing, kevlar rope, para aramid tape, aramid string)?

Kevlar belts are woven from aramid filaments or aramid staple yarns. Our aramid braided belts come in many types, divided by shape, including flat and round , if divided by texture, including plain pattern, twill pattern, herringbone pattern, wavy pattern, beaded pattern.

Our regular specifications include as below:
  • Flat para-aramid tape width: 2cm, 3cm, 5cm, 8cm, other specifications can be customized. usually 50~100 meters per roll .
  • Round para-aramid tape width: 0.5cm, 0.8cm, 1cm, 1.2cm, other specifications can be customized.
Our aramid webbings have the following excellent properties:
  1. Flame retardant and fireproof: it will not burn when exposed to fire, only carbonizes but does not melt. Flame retardant performance complies with EU EN479 fire protection standard.
  2. Heat resistance: It can be used for a long time in the range of -196℃ to 220℃, and does not decompose or melt at high temperatures of 560 ℃.
  3. Chemical resistance: resistant to corrosion by most highly concentrated inorganic acids and other chemicals, hydrolysis and steam corrosion.
  4. High strength and high modulus: extremely high strength, 5 to 6 times that of high-quality steel, 2 to 3 times that of steel or glass fiber, toughness that is 2 times that of steel, and weight only 1/5 of steel. The strong toughness of aramid also makes it extremely difficult to cut and process, requiring special electric shears imported from Japan to cut it.
  5. Wear resistance: excellent wear resistance, the wear resistance coefficient exceeds 100,000 times. Aging resistance, longer service life.
  6. Good mechanical properties: elongation at break <3.5%, breaking strength 23-36 d/g.
  7. Para-aramid is relatively sensitive to uv. When exposed to ultraviolet rays or artificial light sources for a long time, it will turn from yellow to brown over time, but it has no effect on the performance of the product and can be used outdoors for about 50 years.

Characteristics of kevlar belt

  1. Fire retardant only carbonized, no molten droplets, it will automatically extinguish within 2 seconds after leaving the open flame. It can be used for a long time below 260°C. Its flame retardant performance complies with the EU EN479 fire protection standard.
  2. High strength, impact resistance the elongation is low, the elongation at break is <3.5%, and the breaking strength is 23-36 G/D.
  3. Wear-resistant and cut-resistant, the wear-resistance coefficient exceeds 100,000 times, and the cutting resistance when mixed with glass fiber is level 5.
  4. Acid and alkali resistance, corrosion resistance, organic solvent resistance.
  5. The low flammability limiting oxygen index (LOI) is 29%, and carbonization and decomposition begins above 560°C. Excellent high temperature resistance, can work for a long time in acid and alkali environments from -200°C to 250°C. Tape strength still maintains 70% after 1000 hours at 290°C, para-aramid is sensitive to prolonged exposure to ultraviolet (UV).

What are the applications of kevlar belt?

Aramid lifting belt, fire belt, wire belt, high temperature resistant glass binding belt, tempered furnace high temperature rope, fire retardant, high temperature resistant casing.

Para-aramid (Kevlar) shoelaces are precision woven from para-aramid (Kevlar) aramid filament . Kevlar shoelaces are currently widely used in the world's military, armed police, and firefighting Military combat boots are safer due to their excellent fire protection, high temperature resistance, wear resistance, cutting resistance and strong tensile strength. Can make shoelaces last longer.

Fire respirator straps and military clothing belts with para-aramid flame retardant webbing, high temperature resistance up to  400℃.

Para-aramid short fiber yarn is used in various webbings and is now widely used in industrial conveyor belts, safety belts, industrial hoisting belts, glass tempering furnace drum belts and many other fields that have special requirements for webbing. The tape used on the upper edge of the mattress is used for edge sealing.

Widely used in dry fire helmet head nets, fire breathing masks, etc. It has excellent bonding properties with high-temperature-resistant rubber such as silicone rubber. It is an ideal reinforced skeleton material for the current production of high-end automotive high-temperature-resistant booster pipes, oil-resistant pipes, hot water pipes and other pipes. The mesh cloth has consistent strength and elasticity in all directions. Good impact-resistant, suitable for making various special-shaped hoses.
