What is Pre-oxidized Pan ( Panox, OX, PREOX )and para-aramid ( 1313, NOMEX, CONEX, TAMETAR )blended yarn?


Pre-oxidized fiber and meta-aramid fiber blended yarn are made of pre-oxidized polyacrylonitrile and meta-aramid as raw materials through ring spinning. Polyacrylonitrile pre-oxidized fiber is referred to as pre-oxidized Pan fiber, It is made of polyacrylonitrile fiber as raw material and subjected to high-temperature thermal stabilization treatment. The pre-oxidized fiber has high flame retardancy. The limiting oxygen index is greater than 40%, it has excellent thermal stability. The fiber does not melt, soften, shrink, or dissolve during combustion. It is a quasi-non-flammable product.

Meta-aramid is a type of aromatic polyamide fiber. the full name is polyisophthalamide meta-phenylenediamine fiber, and the English name is meta-aramid PMIA for short, preparation of polyisophthaloyl m-phenylenediamine condensation polymer Aramid 1313 is produced by the condensation polymerization of isophthaloyl chloride (ICI) and m-phenylenediamine (MPD). Poly(m-phenylene isophthalamide) is a well-arranged zigzag-shaped macromolecule that decomposes before melting. The glass transition temperature Tg is 270°C. No obvious decomposition and carbonization will occur below 350℃. When the temperature exceeds 400°C, the fiber gradually becomes brittle and carbonized until it decomposes, but no droplets are produced; it does not burn in flames and has good flame retardancy. The limiting oxygen index LOI is 29%-32%. Excellent flame retardant properties. We also call meta-aramid 1313, NOMEX, CONEX, TAMETAR, meta-aramid fiber is an inherently heat-resistant and flame-retardant fiber that will not melt, drip, or support combustion. It has high-temperature resistance, flame retardancy, insulation, wear resistance, and good dimensional stability. Advantages: The chemical structure of the meta-aramid fiber is very stable, and it is resistant to weak acids, weak bases, and most parts of organic compounds, such as ketones and alcohols, have very good resistance to chemicals, so they are widely used in environmental protection, filtration, high-performance protective products and electrical insulation, honeycomb materials for aircraft and high-speed train applications, etc.  

The spinning process of pre-oxidized meta-aramid yarn is divided into:
Blowing room--carding--pre-drawing--bar drawing--combing--first draw--second draw--roving--spun yarn--winding, Preoxidized pan and meta-aramid blended yarn has very good textile processing properties.  Preox and meta aramid blended yarn performance characteristics 

  1. Pre-oxidized fiber and meta-aramid blended yarn, the color is evenly mixed, the yarn count is uniform, and the yarn strength is very good.
  2. Pre-oxidized fiber and meta-aramid blended yarn is non-flammable, non-melting, non-heat-shrinkable, non-thermally cracked, and have no droplet. The heat-resistant and flame-retardant effect of pure pre-oxidized pan yarn better than pure meta-aramid yarn. The fabric made of pre-oxidized pan and meta-aramid blended yarn has excellent performance in antistatic, flame retardant, wear-resistant, acid and alkali resistance, and corrosion resistance.
  3. Heat insulation and temperature resistance: excellent heat resistance and heat resistance performance, can be used for a long time at a relatively high temperature (≤350°C), is difficult to burn under an open flame, and will  extinguish without flame.
