Description

What is chopped carbon fiber?

Chopped carbon fiber is made from carbon fiber filament through chopped mechanical cutting. The length is generally in MM. Its basic performance mainly depends on the performance of its raw material - carbon filament. Our company has a rich variety of chopped carbon fiber. The base material of our chopped carbon fiber is a well -known brand in China and imported Toray's T300, T700, T1000, T1100, M35, M40, M46, M50, M55, M60, compared to longer filaments, short fibers have even dispersion in industrial use, and various feeding methods. It has the advantage of simple process, so it can be used in collars that filament is not suitable for area. Chopped Carbon fiber has the characteristics of light weight, high strength, high modulus, corrosion resistance, conductivity, good shielding performance, high wave absorption. It is mainly used in high-tech fields such as military industry, aerospace. However, with the rapid development of the economy, the excellent properties of carbon fiber are increasingly used in the civil field. The main application areas of short carbon fiber include: reinforced modified materials: nylon (PA, polypropylene (PP), polycarbonate (pc), phenol (PF), polytetraethylene (PTFE, polypropylene (PI)), etc.

Characteristics of carbon fiber

High-performance carbon fiber has excellent properties such as light weight, high strength, high modulus, conductivity, high temperature resistance, corrosion resistance, fatigue resistance, good shielding performance, high wave absorption, erosion resistance, low expansion coefficient, good design ability and compound ability.

  1. High strength (5 times that of steel).
  2. Excellent heat resistance (can withstand high temperatures above 2000°C).
  3. Excellent thermal shock resistance.
  4. Low thermal expansion coefficient (small deformation).
  5. Small heat capacity (energy saving).
  6. Small specific gravity (1/5 of steel).
  7. Excellent corrosion and radiation resistance performance.

Carbon fiber is an inorganic high-performance fiber with a carbon content of more than 90%, which is transformed from organic fiber through a series of heat treatments. It is a new material with excellent mechanical properties and has the inherent properties of carbon materials. The natural characteristics and the softness and process ability of textile fibers are a new generation of reinforcing fibers.

Application of Chopped carbon fiber:

Carbon fiber is a new material and is chopped from various specifications of carbon fiber roving. It has the obvious advantage of high tensile strength, abrasion resistance, corrosion resistance, good conductivity, and high temperature resistance, good shielding performance, high wave absorption.

Carbon fiber chopped products are mainly used in the following application fields:
  1. Reinforce the modified plastics such as nylon (PA),polypropylene (PP), polycarbonate (PC),phenolic (PF), polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), polyimide ( PI) etc.
  2. Construction: reinforce the materials like cement, conductive coatings, anti -static floor etc.
  3. Electric field: can be used to produce conductive paper, electric panels, conductive carbon veil, needle mat, carbon felt etc.
  4. Insulation material:  carbon fiber reinforced refractory blanks and refractory bricks, carbon fiber-reinforced ceramics
  5. New energy: fuel cell electrodes.
